Requirements and prerequisites to test are spelled out in the Certification Manual. All qualifications must be met and documentation supplied to Maine Fire Service Institute (MFSI) two weeks prior to admission of any examination.
- Candidates who are part of a Local/Regional program do not need to register individually. Registration is to completed by program coordinators at least 30 days in advance.
- Skills exams are first come, first serve and have a limit as to how many can test at any one skills exam.
- Photo Identification is required at all exams and NO WALK-IN test takers are allowed. Exams must be scheduled in advance.
MFSI strongly urges all candidates to complete certification testing within one year of program completion. Exceptions can be considered by the Certification Manager providing the candidate is testing within the current NFPA standard.
