This program represents an important opportunity for Maine’s current and future chief officers to continue their professional development and obtain nationally recognized certification. We encourage eligible personnel to register early and help us fill this class, as our goal is to expand Fire Officer III & IV offerings across Maine over the next several years.
The Fire Officer III program is designed for senior company officers, chief officers, and organizational leaders who are responsible for managing personnel, programs, budgets, and strategic initiatives. Major topics include:
- Executive leadership and organizational management
- Strategic planning and community risk reduction
- Human resource management and personnel development
- Labor relations and conflict resolution
- Budget development and fiscal management
- Public education and community engagement
- Policy development and implementation
- Program evaluation and organizational improvement
- Emergency service administration and leadership
