This program is a collaboration with Maine’s Fire Marshal Office (FMO).
This 40-hour course will provide the training necessary for departments to conduct fire investigations. This course will meet both NFPA 921 and NFPA 1033 requirements. Students will learn basic principles and practices of fire scene investigation, evidence preservation, report writing and fire dynamics. Guest instructors include subject matter experts.
Email applications to aheinig@mainecc.edu at the Maine Fire Service Institute before the deadline of February 14, 2025. The course is limited to 24 participants and we anticipate a high volume of applications. Please submit a COMPLETE application to make sure your candidacy is considered. MFSI & FMO reserves the right to limit the number of candidates per municipal departments.
