We’re excited to share that registration is now open for our Live Fire Instructor / Instructor in Charge program! MFSI has partnered with Scarborough & Yarmouth Fire Departments  to provide the delivery of this program and we are very grateful for their support. In today’s world of litigation and blame, live fire training can come under strict scrutiny. A fire service professional should have the tools to ensure that proper due diligence is documented and recorded for risk management in the event of any unfortunate eventuality.

This program will provide the fire instructor with key information on all aspects of live fire training operations.  Including understanding the NFPA 1403 Standard, proper documentation of training activities, the pitfalls of acquired structures, Maine Laws in regards to live fire training, burn packages, fuel arraignment, proper training techniques, and skills to provide students of live fire training activities confidence, and most importantly safety, during training.

The course is designed to bring Live Fire Instructors in compliance NFPA 1041: Standard for Fire and Emergency Services Instructor Professional Qualifications Chapters 7 and 8, 2019 Ed., and NFPA 1403: Standard on Live Fire Training Evolutions, 2018 Ed. It is intended for those persons who are qualified as an Instructor Level II and could be designated by an authority having jurisdiction to instruct or oversee live fire training evolutions.

Applicants shall hold a valid Fire Instructor II certification.

THIS PROGRAM IS FULL.
